Clearwater River Steelhead Report!

We had a great day yesterday getting back to fishing at home on Idaho’s Clearwater River. Even with a down return the Clearwater is fishing very well and these fish are some of the most amazing that Mother Nature has to offer. Every fish we hooked yesterday took straight to the air. It’s really looking like we are going to have a fantastic year of fishing.

Our Regulations are a little different this year as we are allowed to keep up to two hatchery Steelhead, but they have to be under 28 inches to keep. While this really limits the number of keepers we will find it also has a major impact on fishing pressure and lets us have some fantastic fishing.

We have lots of open dates for both the Snake and Clearwater Rivers. Get in touch with us to get your trip set up. We work as employees of Reel Time Fishing for all Clearwater trips. Contact us for availability and info, but all payment will be made to Reel Time Fishing.

Hanford Reach Fishing Report.

We love it when a good plan comes together. Fished some water we have spent a lot of years in today and did very well!  We still have some openings for this great Chinook Salmon Fishing on the Hanford Reach. We have a full boat open the 12th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th. We also have two seats open on the 14th. We finish up fishing here the 22nd of October before heading home to fish the Snake River out of Heller Bar for the rest of October and November. Give our office a call at 208-669-1569 to get your trips booked.

Snake River Sturgeon and Bass Fishing Report 5/30/16

Snake River Sturgeon

We had the great fortune yesterday to spend a wonderful day on the Snake River near Heller Bar chasing oversize catch and release sturgeon and small mouth bass.  Both the sturgeon and bass fishing can be fantastic this time of year and spending warm late spring days in the canyon is a real treat.  We landed a total of 4 sturgeon with one being a very nice 6 foot fish that gave everyone in the family a chance to try to pull him in.  We also put a whacking on the prolific bass in the area.  I think our total for the day was close to 50 fish landed.  Most of these bass are on the smaller side ranging from 6-12 inches, but the action is non stop.

The Sturgeon and Bass fishing will remain very good for the next few months and we will be out chasing them.  We also offer a chance at keeper sturgeon on the Columbia River in the Hanford Reach.  If you are looking for a fantastic dedicated sturgeon trip I really recommend fishing this area with us.

2/15/16 Snake River Steelhead Report

Snake River Steelhead

The Snake River out of Heller Bar continues to fish well. Yesterday we had a great day on the river with only 2 customers going 6-10 on Steelhead and also landing a 3 foot sturgeon on steelhead gear.

We found most of our fish just upstream from Heller Bar as the Grand Ronde is flowing very high and muddy, and has made the Snake River downstream from the Grand Ronde muddy and not fishable.

We had almost all our bites drifting my Jones Sport Fishing shrimp cure in the bright red color in combination with a chartreuse cheater or corkie.

I am not really sure how much longer we can expect good fishing in this area, but I’m expecting it to fish well through at least this next weekend, we might se good fishing later on, but water conditions will dictate that. After that we often have great success switching over to catch and release trophy sturgeon fishing.
