As I work through a busy schedule this week as we prepare to start our summer travel season, the thing that keeps me going is the anticipation of one of our favorite fisheries of the year. Starting July 1 we will be Sockeye fishing on the Upper Columbia near Brewster, Washington, and with any luck we will hopefully have a summer Chinook opening later in the month.
This is such a fantastic fishery with summer weather and fantastic fishing, making it a great trip for the entire family. In the Brewster area we troll coon shrimp behind dodgers for some of the best tasting salmon of the year. Lots of action is the norm, and with a 4 fish limit there will be a bunch of fish to send home with our customers. We offer a number of different options for this fishery, but we really think our private boat 6 hour trips are the sweet spot.
