We have had a fantastic week here at Jones Sport Fishing throughout every single one of the areas that we fish. Our guides have been out catching fish and making memories.
Spring Chinook
Spring Chinook fishing on Idaho Clearwater has been really good this week. Space we have been time in the Orofino area seem to be moving very quickly through the lower river and this seems to be the first decent place that they slow down. Fishing should stay good in this area for the next couple of weeks or until we reach our catch quota. Other areas of the Clearwater are also fishing very well with the South Fork and the middle fork showing quite a few fish back, trolling divers and eggs and quick fish have been our most productive methods this week. Sturgeon
Our Sturgeon fishing has been nothing short of phenomenal over this last week with both of our areas showing really good catches. Our southern Idaho fisheries seem to be out shining the hell Canyon area right now but both areas are offering great fishing. We’ve caught fish up to 9 1/2 feet this week with lots of fish that were smaller as well. June is an exciting time to Sturgeon fish as the high water has fish feeling frisky and on the bite.
Trout
The trout fishing on the river around American Falls has been very good as well this week. Brett got out earlier in the week and found quite a few fish and some really nice size fish as well. June is kind of the primo month for the Snake River in the American Falls area as it’s a constant battle to get on the water before water temperatures warm up to the point that fishing gets tough. We should have a couple more good weeks of trout fishing on the river as well as American Falls reservoir.
