Clearwater River Steelhead!

Check out this awesome fish from our day today on Idaho’s Clearwater River! It’s great to see some fish looking like this late in the season. Overall our day was a little slower today, but we found a few of these beauties to play with. All our Clearwater trips are done as employees of Reel Time Fishing. Idaho’s Clearwater is Fishing Great!

This past week has been nothing short of fantastic on Idaho’s Clearwater River. We had a great week of fishing and my boat landed 19 Steelhead on Thursday alone. All our fish are coming sidedrifting eggs and beads. It is shaping up to be a great February. We have lots of openings over the next few weeks. Snake River Steelhead Fishing Report

We had another fantastic day at the entrance to Hells Canyon out of Heller Bar. We continue to do very well on Steelhead and we have been finding lots of keepers. Success came today drifting shrimp put up in our little mix. This has been a great little trick for us. Stay tuned as we continue to develop a specific snake river recipe! We might even share it with our readers.

Idaho’s Clearwater River is Fishing great!

Yesterday the Snake, today the Clearwater, with the same awesome results! Fishing today on Idaho’s Clearwater River was fantastic! The Clearwater had been “out” the past two days due to high water caused by heavy rain on low lying snow earlier in the week, but today the river was just dropping into the prime Steelhead green conditions. As you can see by the pictures we had an awesome day. We work for Reel Time Fishing for all Clearwater dates and between us and the other Reel Time Boat there were 25 Steelhead that hit the net. Snake River Steelhead Fishing is Going Strong

Snake River Steelhead Report

We had a fantastic day today on the Snake River at the entrance to Hell’s Canyon for hard fighting Steelhead. Nothing quite like fishing for Steelhead in January with the temperature at close to 50 degrees! We landed a bunch of fish today and lost even more. We did very well side drifting both beads and shrimp. By the great number of fish around the Heller Bar area we expect the fishing to be good well into February. Clearwater River Steelhead Report

Idaho’s Clearwater River has been fishing fantastic this past week with our boats averaging 7-15 fish landed per day. We have been getting all our fish side drifting both eggs and yarn combinations, and pegged beads. It’s really looking like fishing is going to remain good all winter and we have lots of open dates the rest of the month of January and the Month of February. This is the time of year we experience our most consistent fishing and highest catch rates. Clearwater River Steelhead Report

Despite the low numbers of returning steelhead to the Clearwater River we have been experiencing some very good fishing. When fishing on the Clearwater we work as employees for Reel Time Fishing. Our boats have been averaging 8-10 fish landed per day. We have been having most of our success side drifting pegged beads and yarn and egg combinations. One of the biggest keys to putting lots of fish in the boat during lean years is to cover lots of water. This is a major advantage of fishing out of a power boat as we can cover 15+ miles or river easily in a day. We have plenty of openings during January and February so don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to get in on the action.

Also now is the time to get your Columbia River Salmon, Sturgeon, and Walleye Trips Booked. We will be getting after the Walleye full time starting in March. If you have specific dates you want to fish it’s best to get them booked early!

Snake River Steelhead Report

Over the weekend we spent some time fishing in the Heller Bar area of the Snake River, and despite the low return numbers and the negative Steelhead press we did very well. On Saturday I had two customers hook over 12 Steelhead and land 6. Numbers like that are great when we are talking Steelhead fishing. These are great fish that fight hard and have great meat quality. We have lots of open dates for the rest of November so if you are interested get in touch with us and we can get you set up on a great day of Steelhead fishing!

Clearwater River Steelhead Report!

We had a great day yesterday getting back to fishing at home on Idaho’s Clearwater River. Even with a down return the Clearwater is fishing very well and these fish are some of the most amazing that Mother Nature has to offer. Every fish we hooked yesterday took straight to the air. It’s really looking like we are going to have a fantastic year of fishing.

Our Regulations are a little different this year as we are allowed to keep up to two hatchery Steelhead, but they have to be under 28 inches to keep. While this really limits the number of keepers we will find it also has a major impact on fishing pressure and lets us have some fantastic fishing.

We have lots of open dates for both the Snake and Clearwater Rivers. Get in touch with us to get your trip set up. We work as employees of Reel Time Fishing for all Clearwater trips. Contact us for availability and info, but all payment will be made to Reel Time Fishing.
