Buoy 10 Fishing Report

This report is for the past two days, as we had a very long day in on the water yesterday. Fishing over the weekend has been tough for most boats. Some people found decent succes, but for most it was a grind. On Saturday we had a real grinder of a day. For three customers we only landed two chinook, and it took us until 6pm to make that happen.  There were plenty of fish to be caught, but they just did not seem to want to play.

Today was a much better day. We were able to limit out on our hatchery Chinook. We ended up with three nice keepers. We did not get a lot of bites, but we really made them count and we were very fortunate to find hatchery fish as our biters. Today we fished all over the place and never really had a consistent bite anywhere, but we got fish almost everywhere we fished. Our fish today came on both anchovies and herring pulled behind shortbus and Fish flash flashers.

Judging by the action today I really expect this next week to fish well. There are a lot of fish around and the bigger tides we have coming this week should push a bunch of fresh fish into the river. This fishery is a great one and we all have our ups and downs, but by fishing hard and using all the information in front of us we are usually able to get our gear in front of some biters.

We still have some openings! August 17th for up to 4 people, 18th -19th we have 2 seats open, 24th we have 2 seats open, and we have the 30th and 31st open for up to 4 people.

Also don’t forget to get your Hanford Reach fall chinook dates booked. It’s going to be another fantastic year in the “reach” and now is the time to get your dates lined up.
